Hallie

Hallie, a beautiful, 8 year old, long-haired cat with one blue eye and one green eye, is suffering from hyperthyroidism. Rescued from a small farm, where she was very cold and anemic, and later adopted by her current caregiver, Hallie has earned the nickname of “hooligan” because of the way she pesters other cats.

After being diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, a treatment of Tapizole was started. This is usually effective, but about 1 in 50 cats have severe reactions including anorexia, vomiting, and lethargy. Unfortunately, Hallie is the 1 in 50. She has recovered from the life-threatening anorexia the Tapizole caused, thanks to the efforts of her caregiver and her vet. The only option left is radioiodine treatment. This treatment takes a week, which was scheduled to start on Oct. 2.

Cats in Crisis is extremely pleased to offer a Stripes Fund grant for $200 to help with the cost of Hallie’s treatment!
